Get to Know the 2018 Interns

321Blink is excited to welcome four interns to our office for the summer. During their time here, they will be developing a marketing campaign for a local non-profit in addition to working on various assignments with the rest of our team. Please give a warm welcome to John, Luke, Mike, and Laura!

John Kilmer – Brand Management

John is an upcoming senior Marketing Major at The University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. His experience in client-facing roles, combined with his love of convincing and persuasive storytelling, makes him the perfect fit to wear two hats this summer. He will be working with both the Branding and Account Services teams. Throughout his internship, John hopes to become more knowledgeable of every step of the agency process, from pitching prospective clients, to content creation and video production. When he’s not in the office, John can be found playing or teaching tennis at the Fox Chapel Racquet Club, where he has taught for the past 6 summers. He also loves to work out, and while he knows that he will never look like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, becoming “The Pebble” is still very much in play.

Luke Thimons – Account Service

Luke is wrapping up his senior year at Slippery Rock University where he is studying Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC). With his approachable personality and diligent attitude, he will be learning the ins and outs of account management this summer. He seeks to learn more about marketing and advertising while finding a niche he can see himself doing for awhile. Off the clock, Luke dreams of the day where he can finally move south to warmer temperatures and enjoy a more coastal life. When the opportunity arises (and the funds support it), he enjoys traveling to new and exciting places in and outside of the country. He also enjoys a good fruit salad.

Michael Mazel – Media

Mike is an upcoming senior at The University of Pittsburgh. He is studying economics and business with a minor in studio arts. Mike is a driven individual who loves to work in an environment where no two days are the same. This summer, he hopes to expand his knowledge of the advertising industry and increase his strategic planning skills. He is a part of Pitt’s radio station, WPTS, and the Climate Stewardship Society. In his free time, Mike loves discovering new music and emerging artists. He is making the most of the nice weather by shooting hoops with friends on the weekends.

Laura Poole – Graphic Design

Laura just completed her junior year at Appalachian State University, located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. She is studying graphic design with a minor in media studies. She came to Pittsburgh because she admires its balance between nature and city. Laura hopes to expand her design skills and methods this summer by working on projects that she wouldn’t normally get the chance to. When she’s not designing, she enjoys watching sci-fi shows, playing card games, listening to music way too loudly, and hiking. During the school year, Laura acts as the social media coordinator at AIGA App State and does design work for various clubs and organizations on campus.
